Who we are
Doit App (UK) Limited (“Doit”, “we”) is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us about it at [email protected].
What we collect
When you join the waitlist we collect your email address. With it we record when you joined, the page you joined from, and the version of this notice you were shown, along with the consent wording you agreed to on the sign-up form, as a record of your consent.
We do not store your IP address. Our hosting and security providers see it briefly in their logs, which we keep for up to 90 days to keep the site secure.
Why we use it
To send you emails with news, content, announcements, product and service launches, offers and promotions relating to money and other financial products and services, as you agreed when you signed up. We do not sell your email address or share it with anyone else for their own marketing.
We rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a), and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations for marketing emails). You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by writing to [email protected].
Where it is kept and who handles it
Your data is stored in the United Kingdom, in Amazon Web Services’ London region. Amazon Web Services hosts the site and the waitlist; Cloudflare delivers and protects the site. Both act only on our instructions.
How long we keep it
Until 12 months after Doit launches, or 18 months after you joined if we have not launched by then, whichever comes first. Before that 18-month point we may ask whether you would like to stay on the list; if you do not reply, your address is deleted. If you become a customer, your account is covered by the privacy notice you agree to then.
If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we remove it from the waitlist straight away, and it is gone from our backups within 35 days. We keep only a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of your address, so that it is not added back by mistake.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
Cookies
We do not use analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
